Publisher review:Spark is a Java library to support dynamically generated Flash in a primarily XML based server environment. Spark is a Java library that converts data in Macromedia SWF ("Flash") data format to XML conforming to a specialized DTD and vice versa.
The primary goal of Spark is to make it easier to work with SWF in a Java and XML based server environment.
Flash is getting increasingly popular with web designers.
Seeing that Flash allows much more control over the layout than HTML, supports elaborate animations and can be edited with graphical tools to boot, this should not come as a great surprise. Spark is aimed at supporting dynamic Flash generation in a primarily XML based server side environment by providing
- A parser to convert SWF (the binary Flash format) to XML conforming to a specialized DTD.
- A writer to convert XML conforming to this DTD back into SWF.
Spark Java 0.2 is a Java script for XML Tools scripts design by Richard Kunze.
It runs on following operating system: Windows / Linux / Mac OS / BSD / Solaris.
